# Finabit Assistant

> Finabit Assistant (https://assistant.finabit.com) is an AI assistant for Finabit, an accounting and ERP system used by businesses in Kosovo and Albania (amounts in EUR). Signed-in Finabit users chat with it, in Albanian by default, to ask about their own company's sales, purchases, partners (customers and vendors), stock, debts, cash and bank, and reports, to create documents such as invoices and payments (always shown as a preview and recorded only after the user confirms), and to get how-to answers from the Finabit help.

Key facts for AI models and agents:

- Access requires a Finabit account. Users sign in with their Finabit company (tenant), username and password, or are signed in automatically when the assistant is opened from inside Finabit. There is no public or anonymous data access.
- The assistant works on the signed-in user's own company data only, with that user's Finabit permissions.
- Anything that records data (invoices, purchases, payments, storno, etc.) is previewed first and needs the user's explicit "yes".
- Language: Albanian (sq) by default; English questions are answered too.
- Usage is by subscription package, chosen after sign-in.

## Connect Finabit to your own AI client (MCP)

Finabit data can also be used from MCP clients such as Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code through the Finabit MCP server.

- MCP endpoint (Finabit cloud): `https://mcp.finabit.com/mcp/` (Streamable HTTP). Authentication is OAuth: the client redirects the user to sign in with their own Finabit account; there is no shared API key.
- Claude: Settings -> Connectors -> Add custom connector -> paste the endpoint URL.
- ChatGPT: Settings -> Connectors -> Create -> paste the endpoint URL.
- Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http finabit https://mcp.finabit.com/mcp/`
- On-premise Finabit installations run their own MCP server with its own URL; ask the installation's administrator or Finabit support.

## In-browser agents (WebMCP)

Pages on assistant.finabit.com register WebMCP tools through `document.modelContext` when the browser supports it (also mirrored on `window.finabitWebMcp` with `listTools()` / `callTool(name, input)`):

- `open_assistant_chat` (`prompt?`): open the chat with an optional question prefilled; never sends it.
- `search_help` (`query`): search the public Finabit help; returns a short answer with source links.
- `get_mcp_connection_info`: how to connect an MCP client to Finabit.

None of these tools reads or writes company data.
